31 March Easter Sunday - Classic Rally & Autojumble
Old Warden Aerodrome, Biggleswade, Beds SG18 9EP
An established show at a new venue. An enthusiasts' paradise at the historic home of the famous Shuttleworth Collection, with lots of jumble and trade stalls, judging and award ceremonies.
Hundreds of classic vehicles will be heading for Old Warden, near Biggleswade in Bedfordshire, on Easter Sunday, 31 March 2013, to take part in the Classic Rally and
Autojumble Show organised by Gemini Events. The show is being held on the aerodrome of the historic and world-famous Shuttleworth Collection of vintage cars, aeroplanes,
cycles and steam engines.
Richard Shuttleworth, a wealthy young man who raced Bugatti and Alfa Romeo cars in the 1930s, won the Donington Grand Prix in 1935 but after a serious crash took up flying,
saying it was 'safer'. He built up a sizeable collection of cars and aeroplanes and at the age of just 24 flew a tiny monoplane to India and twice competed in the famous
King's Cup Air Race. Tragically, Richard was killed in a flying accident in 1940 but his legacy lives on in the magnificent Shuttleworth Collection that thrills and entertains
visitors to this day. All pre-booked entrants to the car show will be able to purchase discounted tickets to the Collection at £8 per person instead of the usual £12.
The show will feature a huge selection of trade and autojumble stands, craft stalls, and play centre for the children, meaning that there will be something on site to entertain
all family. During the day the Old Warden Model Club will be putting on two flying displays and will be on hand to chat about their hobby. The event is also an ideal opportunity
for enthusiasts to spring clean their garage or workshop as the ever popular Trunk Trader plots will be available. Just turn up on the day from 8.00 a.m., pay £10 for a boot sale
sized pitch, and cash in on all your unwanted items. Judges will be on site all day looking for class winners and 'Car of the Show' and all qualifying vehicles will be entered into
a draw to win a place on this year's London to Brighton Classic or Kit & Sports Car Run on 2 June. Prize giving takes place at 4.00 p.m.
Pre-booked entry for classic vehicles is just a £3 administration charge, with entrants receiving a commemorative classic rally tax disc. Public admission on the day is £8 per person.
Accompanied children under 16 are free of charge and gates open at 10.00 am. Booking forms and full details of the event are on the Gemini Events website: www.classicmotorshows.co.uk
or send a stamped addressed envelope to Gemini Events, 23 The Strand, Bromsgrove, Worcester, B61 8AB.

Cherished Vehicles Show
Following the highly successful inaugural event in 2012, The Lions Club of Chippenham are now pleased to announce the
2013 Cherished Vehicles Show which will be held on Sunday 2 June 2013, again at Allington Farm, Chippenham, Wiltshire SN14 6LJ
on the A420 towards Bristol near Castle Combe race track.
Exhibitors' cars, drivers and one passenger are free if registered in advance. Other visitors are £5 and children under 10 enter free.
There will be plenty of parking and easy access to the site. The famous Allington Farm Bangers and Burgers will be there again, a highly popular
attraction in 2012.
For each exhibitor I need Club/Organisation, owner's or driver's name, vehicle make, model, year and registration number. You can send single entries or a list.
Exhibitors will be able to "pick their spot" on the day. Passes will be issued to the e-mail address from which registrations are sent.
Following helpful comments from the more than 120 exhibitors this year, we are incorporating improvements, with much more space, more Autojumble
and more attractions for members of the public, particularly the ladies and children.
Please put the date in your diary and circulate to any Club members or other enthusiasts you are in contact with. We look forward to seeing you on 2 June 2013.
