1984 Reliant Fox Steam Pick Up. Hence "modern" brakes, lights, steering, flashing indicators, brake lights etc. etc. Total body off restoration. Galvanised chassis blast cleaned & enameled. Brakes, steering & suspension overhauled. Road registered with MOT & full documentation. Mono tube steam generator approx. 30sq ft heating surface, with boiler certificate. Nuway pressure jet burner fitted with 2.5 gallons per hour nozzle using 28 sec heating oil. Twin cylinder double acting piston valve engine 21/2" x 31/2" with steam operated cylinder drains & relief valves. Three cylinder feed pump with solenoid operated bypass controlled by steam outlet temperature. 4 speed & reverse gearbox. Control system will hold steam temperature within +/-20C. Will cruise at 40 mph. Any trial for serious buyers. Reliable performance having learned some of the lessons but further improvements would capitalise on greater performance potential. Mileage to date 394.

The steam generator is located in the pick up space, it is fired with a new NUWAY ST 90 burner using an inverter to provided the power. This also enables a digital temperature controller & other readily available components to be used in the control system.
The engine is vertical & open using the Stanley arrangement.
