The Stream Car Club of Great Britain

London to Brighton 2003
Jim King very kindly allowed me to drive his 1902 Stanley BX
on this years run which turned out to be one of the wettest.

Getting steamed up in the early hours before day break
dry at this time, with little to indicate what was to come.

Out of London at last and going well.

Pulled in at a garage for water and a quick check over.

Here we are at "The Steam Car Club" coffee stop, which is set up each year by Ray Clark.
Here we were able to fill the car with water, and ourselves with hot soup.

Climbing one of the many hills, causing the car to emit our personal fog bank.

I think this can be called wet!! here Jim is wringing out his gloves.

At times traffic was heavy, here cars climb the worst of the hills.

Crossing the finish line in good time.

Two very wet passengers arriving in the parking area at the end of the run.

Mrs Curry arriving at the finish line in her 1902 Locomobile.

Here Peter Williams and crew cross the finish line in his 1904 Stanley CX..
