A letter came today saying that Sue Davis is to retire from being Director of the Stanley Museum to take up a similar post at another museum. She will however continue as a Trustee of the Stanley Museum. Her departure marks 25 years of the Museum which she effectively founded, initially to save the Stanley school building from redevelopment and increasingly to record and make available the history of the Stanley family and their numerous interests. I would say a job well done and send my best wishes to Sue in her new appointment.
