Thank you for your replies and comments and I am taking them on board however it’s the wear factor, the carbon rings are very badly worn and considering there is little evidence of it doing any mileage I am assuming the wear is through testing.

As bronze is a wrong change how about hard chroming the cylinders and making cast iron rings this takes the problem area back to old tested technology while keeping 99.9 of Windrush in tact
