On the weekend of 12 and 13 September the Science Museum at Wroughton is holding a Festival of Innovation.

We are looking for someone with a working 1905 or earlier steam car (and also for someone with a similar petrol car) to like to come along and demonstrate it, and compare performance against our 1904 Kreiger Electric Car.

Announcing the Science Museum Festival of Innovation 2009


The Science Museum is delighted to announce the launch of the Festival of Innovation at its vast Wroughton site on 12 & 13th September 2009.

This outdoor, public festival will celebrate engineering, technology and innovation using the magnificent stored objects housed in Hangar D4 as a key from the past to unlock the future. These objects will be shown surrounded by the latest technology from principal sponsors, Intel®, and a range of other partners and sponsors.

The weekend-long event will be suitable for all ages, with a strong interactive element to enable visitors to ‘have-a-go’ on the latest gadgetry, enjoy the speed, sounds and smells of vintage and modern vehicles in action, see the latest in low-carbon technologies or simply learn about how the Museum looks after the nations treasures.
