Oil Separator Idea

Hi all,
I was thinking about a oil separator and came up with an idea for one (it's probably been thought of before).

Steam from the condensate return pipe enters at the top of the separator, after entering the main body it goes through 4 sets of gauzes, starting with a large gauze and gradually reducing in size. Then the steam goes through another tray, this containing absorbent "Drizzit" cloths. The condensate then goes through the condenser and returns to the water tank. Each tray (containing gauzes and absorbent clothes) would be easily removable for cleaning by simply pulling them out and would be sealed by the front plate with the handle of the tray butting up against a flange on the separator itself. There would be holes in both these plates with self tapping screws going through so as to help seal the trays when in use.

My question is would it work successfully with Hallet's SCO1000CTRO steam oil? Anyone who thinks it would work is welcome to have a go at making it.
Happy Steaming. George.
