A question for UK stanley experts - as an alternative to diplag, thinking of painting the ceramic paper bonnet insulation on our car with a sealant - any suggestions re what readily available in UK sealant to use to use?

I have never used the product, but ceramic blanket and paper can be treated with sodium silicate ridgidiser, available on the internet in 1 litre bottles if that is of any use?

AKA "Water Glass" as used by your granny to preserve eggs.
The result is fairly brittle and not good at coping with abrasion - I suspect Diplag has some filler in it to give it some "body" - more like paint.
