Stanley Brake Drum refitting - nut tightening

Had the brake drums off our 607 for cleaning up. Some of the securing nuts have large centre pops in the outer face of the nuts presumable to tighten them up. When refitting, do I need to redo these, or is there any other means used to make sure the nuts do not come loose later - other than pulling them up nice and tight.

What Stanley used to do is peen the end of the bolt over so that nut could not pass. I do not recommend this approach because down the road, it is tough to work with. What I suggest is to center punch the thread of the nut/bolt meeting so that the nut cannot pass the threads on its own. In the future, a wrench can still overpower the thread's disruption without any thread damage.
