On Sunday we took our Model R to The Museum of the Broads Steam Day, its first run out since Basil had replaced a failed swage lock.

Our car was on display with a 1928 Foden K7 6 wheel steam wagon & a 1928 Fowler Tiger tractor, both owned by fellow SCCGB member John Saunders (who also owns a White) There were also steam launches and miniature steam engines too, so several forms of steam power were covered.

We got talking to Julian Garrett the owner and builder of "Ursula" a lovley Edwardian style steam boat with an original 1860 engine (photo attached) who knows several of our fellow club members who own steam boats. He kindly gave us a round trip ride to Barton Broad which was delightful. Incidentally he took part in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Flotilla Pageant on the Thames last June and Ursula was still flying the pennant from that day.

had an invitation to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (one of my favourite haunts anyway) as they were celebrating their 40th Anniversary. Had a good run there and back covering 70 miles. plus the bonus of a ride on the railway.

We were at the Prescott Autumn Classic on 5 and 6 October, with new Member Chris Drake and his Locomobile, the Hounslows with their condensing Stanley, Bob Dyke with his recreation of the White racer 'Whistling Billy' and on Sunday, Mark Drake and his green condensing Stanley.
