Steam bike in Indonesia!

Rusnan Erces - a moped mechanic in Indonesia - has built a Roper-style steam bike having seen only some photos on the web. He has documented the bike on his web site (you may need to use Google Translate to get the gist of this remarkable story).

I like the appearance of being old not brand new!

Me too :-) He is a true 'backyard mechanic' and his bike is a work in progress, using parts he found around the workshop, or that he adapted from old parts. I love the ingenuity behind that. We exchanged several emails throughout the build, and I made a number of suggestions (such as the safety valve!) and he has gone about it quite methodically. This is his third prototype and most successful to date. You can see the evolution from his earlier YouTube videos.

Cheers
Jerry
