Spark Generator

I understand it's common to use a domestic gas cooker spark generator as a fuel igniter. I went to the espares.co.uk website, & found loads. I then ordered the cheapest, figuring I would work out how to wire this up when I got it.

Having got it, it seems to need domestic AC mains to feed it. Not a good choice to put in a car. It hadn't occurred to me that it wouldn't need a low voltage DC source.

Can anybody recommend what to buy, please? Preferable a link to the espares website.

Thanks
Greg

Greg,

The one I use is from a Valor gas fire. Part number 055 4949. It incorporates a PP3 9v battery but I connected it to my 12v supply and it has worked well for several years. I got it from Northern Heating Spares in Leeds. O1132 444120.
