Hi All,
I have been asked to inform you all about the coming auction.............. Jeff.
Hi Jeff,
I wonder if you might alert your readers to the upcoming Stanley Museum 7th Consignment Auction, scheduled for Friday, July 9, 2010, at 10:00 am in Kingfield, Maine. This year we will be starting the auction in the morning - a boon for you folks overseas who may be following the auction online - since we expect this to be our largest auction ever. We have over 425 lots consigned, including 5 running steam cars.
Lot 124: 1910 Stanley Model 70 20hp 5-passenger Touring Car
Lot 125: 1911 Stanley Model 63 10hp 4-passenger Toy Tonneau
Lot 125A: 1903 Grout Brothers 10hp Side Tiller Steer 2-passenger Roadster
Lot 126: 1924 Stanley Model 750B 20hp 7-passenger Touring Car
Lot 126A: 1920 Stanley Model 735 Rebodied with a 1916 Woods Dual Power Body
(the last two cars are already advertised on your website's 'For Sale' section, and have recently been consigned to our auction)
We also have a dozen engines to be auctioned, ranging from early Locomobile, Grout, and Mason engines, to early Stanleys, a fine group of 20hp Stanleys, and a pristine 30hp Stanley engine that has allegedly seen very little use as a laboratory generator - never been used in a car - as "factory fresh" as one could imagine.
There are also hundreds of parts, gauges, fittings, and an impressive collection of early steam journals, vintage photos, and other literature. Should be a fascinating auction. There is more information on registering and absentee bidding on the auction page on our website at www.stanleymuseum.org. The catalogue itself will be a collector's item, and can now be ordered through the Stanley Museum at maine@stanleymuseum.org. You can follow the auction live via Proxibid (more info on the website).
