Fire extinguishers, and air compressors advice needed

Dear all

I'm starting to put together the tool kit for our newly-restored car.

Any advice on

Size/type/make of fire extinguishers to use - need ones readily available in uk

Tyre pump/compressor - will need one for pressurising the pilot & fuel tanks - again any recommendations? I think my old car foot pump may not be up to the job!

This is where I miss Jeff's guidance!

Thanks

Peter

Foot pump will be ok. Pilot is only up to max 40psi. The main fuel air bottles only need pressurising when the air cushion has dissolved so all you need do is open the valve to let the remaining pressure blow the fuel back to the main tank until the pressure drops to 10-20psi then close the valve and pump air via the Schrader connection until the gauge shows 60-80psi (which your foot pump will probably manage), then pump fuel by hand until 120psi is on the gauge. The higher pressure is created by pumping fuel not air.

I wouldn't presume to advise you on fire extinguishers but the now illegal green halon are by far the best I've used.

Mike
