steam oil for Locomobile

Hello.
I wish to ask Locomobile owners wich oil they use. I run a 1911 Stanley with Morris 1000 cylinder oil, and I wish to know if this oil is also suitable for a 1900 Locomobile I am restoring. Any advice will be welcome.

Hi Micheal,
Lots of people are using Hallett oil (now owned by Caldo Oils).01902 745800. Richard Hallett before he retired last year, worked with club members to develop an oil to suit the needs of steam cars. I have traveled 7000 miles using it and must say it is the best I have ever had in the past 20 years. They also produce an engine oil for steamers again developed with club members, very good, well tried and tested. Richard studied the engine design to get an understanding of our needs. He is a consultant to Caldo Oils, he likes to keep his hand in. Give them a ring if you have any doubts.
