We have just received the following email from Don Bourdon, dated 23rd Jan 2014:

"I received a phone call yesterday from Brent Campbell telling me that John Packard died Monday evening from a heart attack. He was at home at the time with his wife.

This obviously a big loss of a friend and provider of new Stanley parts and rebuilt parts

There will be a private family service shortly and a memorial service later this Spring. When we have more information we will let you know"

Although I never met John I have spoken to him a number of times on the phone and he was always helpful and courteous. He carried out a number of overhauling jobs on the 735 automatics prior to it coming to the UK and provided the well engineered brake conversion kit and a lot of advice. He will be greatly missed and our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.
