SCCGB Yorkshire Tour

Just got back from 'The White Rose Tour' which was based at Ian and Sara Vinton's farm and campsite at Moss Hagg Farm Selby. Everyone attending had a great time exploring the delights that this area of Yorkshire had to offer- Castle Howard, York, Brodsworth Hall, Markham Steam Museum (live steam engines on display plus a group visit to the boiler house, not open to the public) The National Mining Museum with a visit underground and finally a visit to a private aeroplane collection housing some of the rarest small aircraft in the country. All finished off with a super BBQ with mountain of food. Well done Sara and Ian, thanks from all of us.

Well done to Ian and his wife Sarah for putting on an excellent tour covering the Selby area here in Yorkshire.

Not everyone stayed the full week but it was nice to see members making the effort to attend, if even for a couple of days. It was also nice seeing some potential members who appreciated the welcome they received and the tour itself, rides being provided for them.

It was a happy gathering, and the weather stayed bright with only one small shower during the day whilst we were all at Brodsworth Hall.

The planning that went into the blow down BBQ, with Sarah and Ian as Chief Chefs and Bottle Washers was well worth it.

Thanks again for a good tour at your excellent venue.

Sandra and Barry

We would like to echo the above comments and also add a big thanks to the entire back up crew, this has to be a first having a Green Goddess fire engine following the entire routes for all of our water needs.
Our favorite places visited were Markham Grange Steam Museum and Brodsworth Hall, and the barbecue was superb.

Don’t forget to pat the brown cow! (You had to be there).

Sarah and I really enjoyed hosting the Yorkshire Tour and it was really nice to have such a great group join us.

Pat the Brown Cow says Hello to everyone.

Cheers
Ian & Sarah
