Any suggestions as to gasket material for Stanley crankcase, replaced the crankcase on our car last month but not got an oil tight seal, think the gasket I used was too soft.

Hi Peter, I went to our local gasket stockists in Hull who also make bespoke gaskets, I explained what I needed and what it was for and they cut some strips at the required width for me from sheet material and they have been perfect. Unfortunately I don't remember what the material was but it just looks looks like black rubber. hope this helps. Harold
