Today was the vintage vehicle day near Cawood, near York in (obviously Yorkshire).
This started and is still, mostly, a ploughing match with the added twist of old stuff turning up.
Alan and Frank Jackson took along their Wallis traction engine which drew the crowds as it undertook the tractor pull and brought a lot of attention at my local pub on the way back to the yard.
I tried to get my Stanley 740 steam car to the event but after a 4 mile run, with the car running the best it has ever done, the superheater pipe parted company and we had to be towed back to the yard. Thanks to the nice, retired guy, who towed us home with his big posh BMW.
We then jumped in the Green Goddess and headed for the show.
Great day.
This event comes about a month after the Cawood show.
