Les

Sparker for Valor gas fire. Part number 055 4949 called a battery spark generator.
Got mine from Northern Heating Spares, Mill 5, Mabgate Mills, Leeds LS9 7TZ.Tel 0113 2444120. This is intended to work off a PP3 9v bettery but works fine off 12v - just sparks a bit quicker! This is just the sprker unit - you'll also need an electrode like an extended spark plug - they have these too but best go and look to pick one out to fit.

Thanks Mike. I have been promised one of this type but tried for a 12 V as I was concerned about over loading the 9 V type, it seems a number of guys use the 9V on 12 without any problems so I will "go this way" cheers for your input

I've used one on 12 volts for the last 5000 miles and 6 years - it is sparking all the when the car is in steam - absolutely no problems. If run on the PP3 nine volt battery the battery runs out of charge after a couple of days use. I just wired the sparker into my main 12v system.
