Terrific pictures which I'd not seen before. What a burner - quite like some steam cars use.

Can't see the engines in the pictures but I think they were on the same level as the propellor shafts and drove them directly. One of these engines is in the Science Museum, I read that the other is in the Titanic.

There is a picture of an engine in Clymer's Steam car Scrapbook page 33. it is incredibly light, built on six frame rods and has one large and one small cylinder. It is either single acting or has trunk crossheads continuing from the cylinders. Perhaps our man on the spot Peter Turvey could give us a fuller write up for the Magazine with more pictures. It is an important bit of industrial history.
